Mass of Christian Burial for Rita Seifert Holmes, 88 of Mankato, formerly of Clements will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to the service. A social and meal will be held at the Wabasso Community Center following the Mass with all welcome. Burial will take place after the social at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Clements. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Rita Seifert Holmes was born to John and Catherine (Bernardy) Daub Dec. 16, 1932,at the home farm in Vail Township near Wabasso. She was raised on the Daub family farm and graduated from St. Anne’s Catholic High School in Wabasso. She attended Mankato State Teacher’s College, graduating with a certificate in education, then after student teaching at a one room country school, was hired to teach elementary school in Russell and

WOOD LAKE Services for Viola Geistfeld, 87, of Wood Lake, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. A recording of the service will be available at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. A walk-through visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Wood Lake.
Viola died Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center.
Viola Elma (Goltz) Geistfeld was born Nov. 30, 1933, on the family farm in Posen Township, to Fred and Clara (Krosch) Goltz. Viola grew up on the farm and attended Wood Lake public school through the sixth grade. She then attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Wood Lake for grades seven and eight before graduating from the Wood Lake High School. After high school, Viola worked as a secretary for Wood Lake public schools. On Aug. 29, 1954, Viola was united in marriage

CLARKFIELD A public walk-through visitation for Glenn Dietz, 77, of Clarkfield will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Burial with military honors will follow at the Vesta Cemetery. Mask and social distancing requirements will be observed at all indoor services. Arrangements are with the Sunset Funeral Association of Echo.
He died Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield.
