Josephine “Jo” P. Swift, 89, of Baldwinsville peacefully passed away on December 20, 2020. She was the youngest of six children born on March 4, 1931, to the late Joseph and Sophia Swiech Powroznik of New York Mills. It was at St. Mary’s Church in New York Mills where she married her husband of 71 years, George M. Swift.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by a son, George Merrill, Jr., who died in infancy, as well as her brothers Stanley and Walter Powroznik, and sisters Genievive Winnicki, Ceceilia Chrabas and Leocadia (Lee) Mitsler.
She is survived by her husband George and three children, Bruce (Cheri) Swift of Liverpool, NY, Susan Swift of Hamlin, NY, and Cynthia Swift Harrison of Stowe, VT; four grandchildren, Leslie Swift (Donald Pingleton), Jenessa (Chris) Williams, Julian Harrison and Abbey Harrison; and three great-grandchildren, Grace Pingleton, Avery Williams and Jacob Williams.
