Annual count of homeless helps to secure funding
Medical Center Director joins KCPD Metro Patrol annual Point in Time.
Throughout the day and evening, KCVA executives met at local agencies and supported the PIT counts at three locations: Benilde Hall/Safe Haven, Footprints and Harbor Light Village.
David Isaacks is the medical center director; Angela Athmann is the assistant medical center director. Both joined the Kansas City Police Department in compiling local homeless data as part of a police ride along (pictured above).
“The Point-in-Time is a date set nationally. It makes sure we are not double counting,” said Isaacks. “One of the reasons it is done this time of year is not just because of funding but because this is when there are a lot more homeless folks residing in shelters and known locations. ....

Here are the winners of YMCA s virtual Ugly Sweater Run

If you noticed people walking or running around the community last week wearing colorful ugly sweaters or other holiday attire, you may have seen folks taking part in the annual Siskiyou Family YMCA Ugly Sweater Run. 
Due to COVID-19, the race was held virtually this year, with participants having three days to complete the 2-mile run/walk or 5-mile run.  
Noelle Collier, Health and Fitness Director for the YMCA, helped organize the event. She said 106 people signed up, which exceeded their expectations. Normally, around 120 or so people take part in the run, which is in its ninth year.  ....
