Dhaka, Apr 16 (IANS): Bangladesh will operate special flights to five countries Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore to help its stranded expatriate workers rejoin their workplaces there. We don t want to see our expatriates face any difficulty. that is why the Bangladesh government has made coordinated efforts to help expatriates return to their workplaces in five countries on special flights from Saturday without any hassle, Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr A.K. Abdul Momen told IANS on Friday.
The government decided to allow airlines, including state-owned Biman Bangladesh Airlines, to operate the special flights.

Tourism industry to help achieve SDGs: Mahbub

MUNSHIGANJ, 21 Jan, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali today that measures have been taken to strengthen the tourism sector as it will reflect the country’s development and help achieve SDGs within the stipulated time.
“We have met the MDGs ahead of schedule, next lie the SDGs…The tourism industry will play a vital role in meeting the targets of this SDG,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Padma Cruise’ inauguration ceremony beneath the under-construction Padma Bridge in the middle of the Padma river this afternoon.

Rabeya started her writing career crossing the barriers of patriarchal society and when women were almost confined to their homes.
The novelist died at her Banani residence around 5:00pm after suffering a cardiac arrest, said her family. She is survived by two daughters and two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
In her career spanning almost six decades, Rabeya had shown her capacities in short stories, essays, religious history, and travelogues. And she became an inspiration for many budding writers, including females.
Rabeya wrote over 50 novels and more than 400 short stories.
She received Ekushey Padak in 1993 and Independence Day Award in 2017, the two most prestigious and highest civilian awards of the Bangladesh government, for her contributions to literature.
