Members at Monday’s Grants Committee meeting authorize a grant application for the federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program available to qualifying governments with a population of 200,000 or more. The grants are designed to give rental assistance to both renters and landlords; Madison County Community Development would represent the county. Illinois has issued moratoriums on evictions, which has created hardships for landlords not getting paid. As the moratoriums expire, there has been concern that subsequent evictions could create a great deal of hardship.

Microforests are small, densely planted areas containing up to 30 species of native plants.
