The 100-megawatt project which is fully operational and producing energy as of June 14 was developed and constructed by EDP Renewables, which completed the sale of a 50.01 per cent ownership stake in the project to Chi-Nódin Limited Partnership, owned by the First Nations community, on Thursday.

The wind farm is comprised of almost 30 turbines, located mostly in North Stormont with some in South Stormont, and has been the subject of local opposition ever since it was announced. This opposition has continued in recent months as work on the turbines was completed, the units commissioned, and EDP received signoff for commercial operation from the Independent Electricity System Operator.
