Tip leads to largest drug bust in Liberty County; at least $500K worth of meth found, authorities say
LIBERTY, Texas – A tip led to the largest drug bust in Liberty County Tuesday, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said.
Law enforcement officials said they confiscated nearly 100 kilos of meth, which is about 220 pounds. The amount has a street value of more than $500,000.
Officials said they went to a home on County Road 2192 off FM 787 to issue a search warrant. According to investigators, they got a tip there were drugs in the home.
LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) In a great New Year s Day update, a 32-year-old woman kidnapped from Liberty County Tuesday was found safe in Illinois around 2 a.m.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff s Office, the suspect in the kidnapping, 38-year-old Abel Fajardo, was arrested, and Erika Rios Valdez was found with him, safe and unharmed.
No information was available about exactly where the two were located in Illinois, but deputies expect more information to be released later today.
Fajardo is currently in jail in Illinois, according to deputies.
According to LCSO, Fajardo kidnapped Valdez at gunpoint around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas Authorities are searching for a 32-year-old woman after deputies say she was kidnapped at gunpoint by a 38-year-old man in north Liberty County Tuesday night.
Liberty County deputies said they are looking for Erika Rios Valdez after she was taken by Abel Fajardo around 9:30 p.m. from a home located in CR 3404 in the Plum Grove area.
Witnesses told investigators that Valdez was in the process of parking and unhooking a food service trailer when Fajardo drove up and forced her into his vehicle at gunpoint.
