YONG PENG: The newly-opened vaccination centre (PPV) here, which would be able to vaccinate 2,000 people a day at its peak capacity, will help the nation meet its vaccination target, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong. He said the PPV, located at the Yong Peng Che Ann Khor Moral Uplifting Society multi-purpose hall, had 998 appointments on its first day of operation yesterday. “This includes some senior citizens aged 99, 97 and 94. And over time, the number of vaccines dispensed will increase to its maximum capacity of 2,000 doses a day. “This PPV is considered quite big with around 200 medical staff and volunteers available to assist those who show up for their vaccination appointment,” he said after visiting the PPV.
