ولادة قـمـر جـديـد
رصد علماء الفلك من جامعة غرونوبل الفرنسية، لأول مرة، ظاهرة ولادة قمر جديد حول أحد الكواكب المشابهة لكوكب المشتري، مؤكدين أنهم اكتشفوا دائرة مغبرة تحيط بكتلة غازية عملاقة على بعد 370 سنة ضوئية عن الأرض، تتضمن ظهور قمر جديد.
وقال الدكتور شون أندروز، الباحث المشارك في عملية رصد القمر الجديد: «لقد استخدمنا انبعاثات من حبيبات الغبار الباردة لتقدير مقدار الكتلة الموجودة في القرص»، مشيرا إلى أنه «يوجد ما يكفي من الحطام حول النجم الصغير المحاط بكتلة كبيرة من الغازات لإنتاج ثلاثة أقمار بنفس حجم القمر الذي يدور حول كوكب الأرض».

Astronomers have spotted a moon-forming disc around a planet outside of our solar system.
It is the first time that scientists can be sure they have seen such a disc – which could be forming new satellites around its host world – around an exoplanet.
The new findings could help show how moons and planets are able to form in solar systems when they are still young. That process still remains largely mysterious to scientists.
