Japanese Man Arrested For Drunk Droning By Mike

It was only a matter of time, but ‘DWI’ can now mean ‘droning while intoxicated,’ at least in Japan. A 56-year-old man reportedly drank eight beers in a five-hour period; at that point, he got the urge to clean his room and found a drone he had bought a few years ago. He took it out of the box, found out it worked and decided to take it up for a quick flight around the neighborhood. Not being sober, he crashed the drone into a neighbor’s window, and the neighbor called the police. Earlier this year, Japan revised its Civil Aeronautics Act to include new laws for drones; this gentleman is the first person to be charged under the new law. For the full story, click
