The Wildcats, after heartbreaking losses in postseason runs scattered throughout the last decade, are boys basketball champions at long last.

This year s Wildcats (19-0), the first 4A state champions to go undefeated since Olympic in 2013, survived back-to-back overtime games to make it to this year s final, so it was only fitting they played a third for the title.
Millbrook's boys basketball team advanced to the 4A state championship with a 79-77 win over defending co-state champion Lumberton in the eastern regional final on Tuesday night, led by 29 points from Silas Demary, Jr.

Raleigh, N.C. After being knocked out of the playoffs in the third round last season, Millbrook will get a shot at playing for a 4A regional championship next week.
The Wildcats overcame a four-point deficit in overtime to defeat Apex Friendship 68-66 on Saturday afternoon.
Redford Dunton hit a lay-up to cut the Apex Friendship lead to two points, then Silas Demary, Jr. scored the final four points of the game to give Millbrook the win. Demary went the length of the floor for a lay-up to tie the game, then knocked down two free throws to take the lead for good.
