New York-based Cargo Film & Releasing have picked up the world rights to Michael Webber’s newest doc, The Conservation Game, just before its world premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The Conservation Game follows the story of retired cop Tim Harrison, who uncovers connections between some of America’s top television celebrity conservationists and the exotic pet trade. His investigations take him into the secret world of the big cat trade and the halls of Congress – where he encounters unexpected opposition. Producer/director Michael Webber’s films have won five Best Documentary Awards, an Independent Spirit Award and the Director’s Choice Award from Michael Moore. Prior to his documentary work, he spent years producing fiction films for studios such as 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate.
