Sierra Leone's President Julius Maada Bio Visits Youth Skills Development in Construction Work at Bandajuma-Liberia Border, Applauds EU and Local Partners – Sierra Leone State House – The Republic of Sierra Leone State House


Malema 2, Pujehun District, Southern Province, Saturday 20 February 2021 –His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio has visited a youth skills training programme targeting about 1,540 young people learning road construction at the Bandajuma-Liberia border road project funded by the European Union, EU.
He thanked partners for this possible, among them, the EU Ambassador, Tom Vens, the head of National Authorising Office, Ambrose James, the National Youth Commissioner, Ngolo Katta and the construction company, CSE, for engaging able-bodied young men and women in the Pujehun District, southern Sierra Leone.
At Malema 2, en route to Jendema, President Bio addressed the youth and challenged them to form a ready workforce to work on future road construction projects in the country, adding: “Ours is a human capital development government. Therefore, people should be at the center of everything that we do”. ....

Sierra Leonean wins the 2021 imperial college distinguished alumni award

A Sierra Leonean, Ambassador Yvette Stevens (M.Sc., DIC., FSLIE, MIET) has won the 2021 Imperial College Distinguished Alumni Award
The prestigious Imperial College London is a one-of-a-kind institution in the UK, focusing solely on science, engineering, medicine and business. It has been consistently rated in the top-five UK universities and in the top-ten universities worldwide.
The Imperial College Alumni Awards started in 2020, and honours alumni in three categories, namely the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Emerging Alumni Leader Award and the Alumni Entrepreneur Award.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognises and celebrates outstanding alumni who have demonstrated sustained excellence in their personal and professional achievements, are leaders in their field or have made a substantial impact on society.  Ambassador Stevens was the sole winner of the Distinguished Alumni Award for 2021. ....
