A 6-year-old from California who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2017 had a dream to become a UPS driver.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, UPS and the community of Stockton, Mateo Toscano s wish became a reality even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
On May 6, the 6-year-old, equipped with his very own license, became one of the delivery drivers he adored watching through the windows of his home while undergoing treatment over the past four years. Mateo Toscano getting his own UPS truck in Stockton, California.

STOCKTON, Calif. (KMAX/KOVR) - Given the chance to make a wish, a 6-year-old California boy who battled leukemia chose to be a UPS driver and spent the day delivering packages.
Mateo Toscano, 6, arrived in luxury Thursday as he pulled up with his family in a limousine for his Make-a-Wish request. His wish to be a delivery driver had to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it finally came to fruition with community support.

A 6-year-old is now the world s youngest UPS driver.
Mateo Toscano, from Stockton, California, spends most of his time indoors due to his leukemia diagnosis and the need to stay inside was further exacerbated by health and safety concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
To keep himself occupied, Mateo people-watched from his living room windows, and particularly liked it when delivery drivers would come around with packages. He wanted to be like them and bring joy to others by delivering packages and through The Make-A-Wish Foundation his dream came true Thursday.

A little boy fighting leukemia worked as Santa’s helper recently while waiting for his Make-a-Wish dream to come true in Stockton, California.
On December 3, five-year-old Mateo gathered letters to Santa from people outside a Macy’s store and dropped them into a big red box labeled “Santa Mail,” according to CBS Sacramento.
In his own note to Santa Claus, he asked for a toy. But part of his gift would be the start of fulfilling his dream to become just like his hero, the mailman.
“When I hear him come, I just hurry to the window and watch him. He’s just nice to us,” Mateo explained.

Mateo was diagnosed with leukemia at 2 years old, and he s had to spend much of his life inside even before the pandemic. During his days at home, he loves to see the mailman. When I hear him come, I just hurry to the window and watch him, Mateo told CBS Sacramento. He s just nice to us.
