ELKINS A virtual Candidate Forum for the March 2 Elkins Municipal Election is set for next week.
The Randolph County Democratic Women are organizing the forum, to be held on the Zoom platform. The event is set for 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday.
All candidates on the ballot, which features open positions for mayor and one city council member in each of the city’s five wards, are welcome to take part in the forum.
“Candidates will be asked to introduce themselves and explain why they’re running for office,” a Friday press release states. “There will be a question and answer period with questions submitted by RCDW members.

Randolph County Democratic Womenâs Club President, Cindy Stemple presents a donation of $500 to Kayla White, one of the coordinators of the Elkins High School Tiger Express. Ms White along with Jess Hedrick and Cody Thompson sponsor the effort which provides a meal and gifts at Christmas for children who may otherwise have none. The Tiger Express was started by retired EHS teacher Alice Wise.
