Email Submit A New London woman charged with murder in connection to the death of her young son appeared virtually in court Monday and was ordered held on a $2 million bond. In a statement released Monday evening, the Connecticut Department of Children and Families said she had recently asked for help and reported that she thought someone had hurt her son.   Tiffany Farrauto, 33, of 242 Nautilus Drive, Apt. 208, was arrested Sunday and charged with murder and risk of injury to a minor after her 4-year-old son was found dead in their apartment. Police had not yet identified the boy, but Farrauto s mother, Cindy Steenson of Westerly, said at a candlelight vigil Monday evening that her grandson s name was David Jasmin.

His name was  David “Cash” Jasmin. He was the son of  Tiffany Farrauto, 33, the woman charged with killing him. “On Sunday, March 7, 2021, we lost a sweet baby boy, David (Cash),” said a statement. “He was 4 years old. Due to the sudden and tragic way he was taken, we would like to help his family to be able to pay for the services. This Angel baby deserves a beautiful service and to help eliminate anymore heart ache on the family.”

Tiffany Farrauto, 33, of New London, was charged Sunday with murder and risk of injury to a minor after police said they responded to her home and she told them she strangled her son. Officers tried to revive the boy, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a hospital.
