Demarcus Robinson reveals another team was interested in him, talks 2021 role
The now-longtime Chiefs receiver joined

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson caught on with the team as a fourth-rounder back in 2016 and ever since, he has been a staple in the form of a role player. When his rookie contract expired after the 2019 championship season, Robinson explored free agency but ultimately ended up back with the Chiefs on a four-year qualifying contract.
Robinson once again explored
this offseason, and though another team showed interest, he once again felt his best option was to sign a one-year contract (for the veteran salary benefit) with the Chiefs.

Philip Rivers having recently retired, the
Indianapolis Colts are in the market again for a starting quarterback ahead of a consecutive offseason.
While the longtime Chargers quarterback ultimately calling it a career wasn’t surprising, the early offseason timing of it was, which could actually work to the Colts benefit as far as getting more time to get a lay of the available quarterback landscape and to more seriously pursue potential options knowing full well now that Rivers isn’t returning anymore.

As it stands, six Illini alums in the NFL are on playoff teams: Nick Allegretti of the Kansas City Chiefs, James Crawford (practice squad) of the Baltimore Ravens, Justin Hardee of the New Orleans Saints, Del’Shawn Phillips (Injured Reserve) of the Buffalo Bills, Jihad Ward of the Ravens and Tavon Wilson of the Indianapolis Colts.
We’ll give all of those players a grade once the NFL playoffs are over. For now, let’s take a look back and give a grade to those Illini alums on teams who failed to make the playoffs cut in this wacky 2020 season.
