Mack Schroer worked as a trucker in the oilfields a few years ago to pay off debt from art school.
“There’s a lot of downtime in the oil field, a lot of hurry up and wait,” he said. “You’re waiting at saltwater disposals, or you’re waiting at a frack pad to drop off sand.”
While the concerts are free and offered virtually, the Jamestown Arts Center will be hosting the concerts free at their location over the lunch hour in sessions their calling “Lunch Listens.” Jepson says participants can bring their lunch and enjoy the concerts.
Today, the series continues with Paulo Padilha e Bando from Brazil.

The Arts Midwest World Fest is bringing the music of Israel, Brazil and Japan to people virtually all over the world at no charge this year.
But Sally Jeppson, gallery manager at The Arts Center, said not everyone has access to the internet, so The Arts Center decided to provide a place for people to come and safely view the Midwest World Fest performances as well, billing it as a “Lunch Listen”.
