Crutchfield, Cullison, Kramer, Stewart file as District 19 slate

share this District 19 state lawmakers jointly file for re-election as slate Three state delegates and a state senator from Montgomery County filed on Wednesday for re-election in the 19th District. Vaughn Stewart, Bonnie Cullison and Charlotte Crutchfield are running for another term as state delegates, while Ben Kramer is running for another four years in the state Senate. The four lawmakers are running as a slate, which means they are fundraising as a group.  Stewart and Crutchfield were elected in 2018. Cullison was elected to the House in 2010. Kramer served three terms in the House, starting in 2007, before taking a seat in the Senate in 2019.

Bill to repeal spousal defense for sexual crimes moves to House of Delegates Search By Kimberly Seif ANNAPOLIS (March 31, 2021) A Maryland bill that would repeal the prohibition on prosecuting some sexual crimes against a victim who is the spouse of the assailant has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee after passing through the Senate in a unanimous vote. SB0250, the Love is No Defense to Sexual Crimes Act, is co-sponsored by Sen. Susan Lee, D-Montgomery, and Sen. Jeff Waldstreicher, D-Montgomery. SB0250 has also been cross-filed in the House of Delegates with HB0147, which has been sponsored by 11 delegates, including Del. Charlotte Crutchfield, D-Montgomery, and Del. Lauren Arikan, R-Harford, giving the bill bipartisan support.
