I recently learned that Bugatti has created a USD$300,000 (S$398,000) pool table. Yes, a pool table that costs as much as a HDB flat in Singapore – let that sink in.
To be fair, it isn’t all about being flash. It’s designed for yachts, where its legs can adjust in just five milliseconds to account for the rocky nature of being out at sea – so the table surface would always be flat.
Does that necessarily mean that it is worth $300,000?
At these numbers, it may be difficult for a regular person to comprehend the value of such a product. But when it comes to the world of the ultra rich, well, anything goes.

When we did our last ultimate new launch cheat sheet in February 2020 (view here), I don’t think many people would have predicted then how the property market would have moved as much as it had in the past year.
It was, after all, the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic (for Singapore, at least). And it was not long after this that Singapore had to go into lockdown mode.
Now, it isn’t just the mass market that is moving, but there is a slew of high-end new launches coming up, and HDB resale prices have climbed up for 4 straight quarters.
Now that’s a slogan that befits The Crest in more ways than one.
Before I go into greater detail on that however, allow me to first share a little more about our project today.
The Crest is a 99-year leasehold condo built by Wing Tai Asia (TOP-ed 2018) with the aid of renown architect Toyo Ito (recipient of the esteemed Pritzker Prize back in 2013).
To say that the towers at The Crest are of a unique structure would probably be a keen understatement.
For those who frequent Alexandra Road, you’d likely recall three distinct towers with units extending outward at varying heights (somewhat resembling a blooming flower’s petals if you will).
