Manuel Chosen To Coach SFCC Shooting Team
State Fair Community College has named Sarah Manuel as the first Head Coach of the Clay Target Shooting Team.
The college expanded their athletics program with the addition of the target shooting team in Sedalia and the Lake of the Ozarks, The team will begin competition during the 2021-2022 academic year at SFCC.
“I welcome the challenge in starting a program from scratch and building a rich history behind our college,” said Manuel. “Prospective athletes are hungry for a sport like this because there aren’t many opportunities to continue beyond high school and we hope to provide them with a venue to continue and hone their skills as target shooters. It is exciting.
Local News - Benefit set for Streatery Frozen Meals Program
Havre Daily News staff The Recovery Benefit Concert, a free event to raise donations for Streatery owner Sarah Manuel’s Frozen Meals Program, is set for Friday at 5 p.m. at the Atrium Mall. The concert will feature Tattered Blue Cardigans, and organizer Derek Hann said he is working on making concessions available. Through her program Manuel provides healthy frozen meals, which have been prepared in her Streatery food truck, to families with food insecurity. With a fourth season of operation underway, a major goal of the Streatery food truck is to give back to the community by providing free meals to people struggling with food insecurity during COVID-19. Streatery owner Sarah Manuel said she always has been concerned about the amount of food wasted in the country, and when COVID-19 set in, she saw people slipping into food insecurity and she decided to take action on both.
