Steelcase CEO announces retirement

GRAND RAPIDS, MI Steelcase announced Monday that President and CEO Jim Keane will retire Jan. 7, 2022.
Keane, who has been with the Grand Rapids-based furniture company for 25 years, will be replaced by Sara Armbruster. She joined the company in 2007, during which time she has led Steelcase’s corporate strategy and acquisition activities, the company said. She will be the company’s 10th CEO in its 109-year history.
Keane, 61, will stay on as president and CEO until Oct. 4, after which he will transition to the role of vice chair. He will serve in that role until his retirement.

(NYSE: SCS) President and CEO Jim Keane, announces he will be retiring on January 7, 2022, after 25 years with the company, including more than seven years as CEO. Keane will remain President and CEO until October 4, 2021, at which time he will become vice chair and will serve in that role until his retirement from the company.
Sara Armbruster, who has been appointed Executive Vice President and a member of the Steelcase Board of Directors, will take over as President and CEO on October 4, 2021.
