Chautauqua County’s Department of Planning and Economic Development is looking to give up its office in Westfield.
During the legislature’s Audit and Control Committee meeting, Mark Geise, the chief executive officer of the county Industrial Development Agency and the Director of the Department of Planning and Development shared that they want to trying to consolidate their three offices in the county to two.
“This is part of our efforts to unify and to consolidate. We had three offices – the BWB in Jamestown, the incubator in Dunkirk, and the Welch building in Westfield. As we really looked at things, it really made a lot of sense for us to only have two offices, to consolidate, so everyone’s closer together physically and able to work together more closely,” he said.
