Fisheries Authority funds water project in Labu Tale – EMTV Online

By Julie Badui-Owa The Labu Tale Community in the Huon Gulf District of Morobe is the recipient of a clean water supply project, funded under the National Fisheries Authority Department’s Social Cooperate Responsibility. Labu Tale Community’s issue of clean and safe water supply concern was raised to the office of NFA by the Ward Councillor through a letter.  Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resource, Dr. Lino Tom officiated the opening of the water project last week.  Labu Tale is located in the Wampar LLG of Huon Gulf District, Morobe. It is one of the three Labu communities located a few kilometres north-east of Lae City.

Deputy Prime Minister, Sam Basil, met with TOTAL chairman and CEO, Patrick Pouyanné, concerning the Papua LNG project timeline for future investment in Papua New Guinea. Both men are pleased to announce the remobilisation of the project teams and other required resources to move the project forward. “With the signing of the Fiscal Stability Agreement, it is clear to both the Government and TOTAL SE. The project is now moving towards a final investment decision with no further delays,” Basil said.

Papua New Guinea – Meeting between Franck Riester and Sam Basil, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (3 May 2021 Share Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, met with Sam Basil, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of Papua New Guinea, on May 3, during his visit to Paris. Franck Riester and Sam Basil reaffirmed their shared determination to strengthen bilateral economic ties between France and Papua New Guinea and their desire to increase their cooperation in new areas such as renewable energy, notably in the context of the broadening of the mandate of the French Development Agency (AFD) in the Pacific. They therefore welcomed the signing of the agreement between the government of Papua New Guinea and Total, allowing the resumption of the Papua LNG project after two years of negotiations.
