The
Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) is once again in the news, again not for all good reasons. This time the Under Secretary of Department of Cooperation has directed the
KFCC to explain why an
administrator should not be appointed for the apex body of the Kannada film industry.
“The Deputy
Registrar of
Cooperative Societies has recommended appointment of an administrator to the KFCC. You have to show the cause why an administrator should not be appointed and submit a reply in writing within seven days of receiving this notice,’’ said Radha HC, Under Secretary, Department of Cooperation in a notice to the KFCC president and secretary issued on February 26.

Apex Sandalwood body asked to stop taking any decision on major financial matters, except payment of salaries and day-to-day expense
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (
KFCC), the apex body of the Kannada film industry, has received an interim order from
the Registrar of Cooperative Societies directing it not to take decisions pertaining to financial matters except on those related to paying salaries to the staff members and day-to-day expenses till further orders.
“The KFCC should not take major decisions pertaining to financial matters with immediate effect. The general body meeting also should not be held till further orders due to the Covid-19 pandemic,’’ said SG Manjunath Singh, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Bangalore 4th Division.
