(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) put out a statement on Saturday to commemorate Harvey Milk Day, which honors the late gay San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, who was murdered along with San Francisco Mayor George Moscone on Nov. 27, 1978.
“When Harvey was sworn in as supervisor, he said that his victory signaled ‘a green light to all who feel disenfranchised’ and that ‘the doors are opened to everyone,’” said Pelosi in her statement.
