San Diego County Supervisors consider vaccines for law enforcement, grants to small businesses

SAN DIEGO    County supervisors on Tuesday will consider a third round of aid to small businesses hurt by the COVID-19 shutdown and a proposal to immediately vaccinate law enforcement officers from the coronavirus. Supervisors Joel Anderson and Terra Lawson-Remer propose making grants to small businesses a priority if the county receives additional federal COVID-relief funds. Under their proposal, the county would develop the program to provide $30 million in grants to small businesses, or at least $6 million for each county district. Lawson-Remer said the grants would be dependent on an allocation from Congress. While the timing of that is uncertain, she said preparing now would help deploy the money more efficiently when and if it does come.
