Church news: In response to the current Covid-19 situation and lockdown restrictions we regret that there will be no church services until further notice. Foodbank: Austwick WI is now supporting the new foodbank in Ingleton which covers the surrounding area including Austwick, Clapham and Burton, and partners with Bentham in providing food - including fresh food and hot meals - to local families in need. Supported by the churches and run from Ingleton Church Hall, the Ingleton Foodbank supports families in need including any not receiving Universal Credit. It has the support of the Skipton Foodbank which will continue to serve that area. With the generous help of Ian and Michelle at Crossleigh Stores Austwick WI will continue to collect donatio
“Some of the team had never run before, so it was great to come together to take on this challenge. We all ran at least 5km and supported each other every step of the way. I’m so chuffed we did it, and we raised £1,190 too.”
Another participant was retired EADT and Ipswich Star journalist David Vincent, 68, a former cancer patient. In 2012, David was diagnosed with bowel and bladder cancer. Eight years on he is still very grateful for the outstanding level of care he received at Ipswich Hospital and considers himself “one of the lucky ones”.
He chose to support The Blossom Appeal, to build a new £5.3m Breast Care Centre at Ipswich Hospital, and raised £285 for the appeal.

The independent board games company, Big Potato Games, has partnered with the voice design studio, Vocala, to bring a selection of its popular games out of the box and into the world of voice. Under the new partnership, best-sellers like Obama Llama and Linkee have been developed as voice activated games to be played on Alexa devices.
The move is the latest to recognise the importance of voice technology as a growing platform for entertainment and marketing, particularly in the toys and games sector. Vocala has laready developed some of the most successful voice games including Pointless and Deal or No Deal.
