Fundraiser Set Up For Family Of Santa Clarita Motorcycle Deputy Struck By Big Rig
A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Deputy Chad Perrigo, who is in the hospital recovering from severe injuries after being hit by a big rig Tuesday, according to the fundraiser description.
The fundraiser is set to go towards Perrigo’s wife and three boys after an accident Tuesday morning in Valencia left him with “serious injuries,” according to representatives with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department
“Chad has been a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for nine years, with the past 2 years spent as a motor deputy at Santa Clarita Valley Station,” read a description on the GoFundMe page. “He is not only a beloved member of the station’s motor team, but also a devoted husband and father to three young boys.”
Top Out Climbing Asks For Community Help Amid COVID-19 Financial Losses
A GoFundMe page has been created for the Santa Clarita climbing gym Top Out Climbing, which has struggled over the past year due to financial losses incurred as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Supporters of Top Out Climbing have been donating directly to the facility’s website, and have started a GoFundMe page to collect donations to help keep the popular climbing gym open in Santa Clarita after months of difficulties due to COVID-19.
“Top Out Climbing is the only climbing gym in Santa Clarita and it also has the strongest sense of community of any climbing gym I have been to,” wrote Kamila Hoenk, who organized the GoFundMe page. “Like the Cheers bar, it’s a place where everyone knows your name. It’s a second home to me and many climbers.”
