NORWALK (CNS) - A man pleaded not guilty today to murdering his 66-year-old mother, whose body was found in a trash bin in Huntington Park.
Cristian Torres, 32, is charged in the slaying of Teresa Pasillas Iniguez, who was discovered dead April 5.
The woman died from stab wounds to the chest, according to records from the Los Angeles County coroner s office.
Along with the murder count, Torres is charged with taking a vehicle without consent.
Deputies went to the 2500 block of Santa Ana Street at about 10:30 p.m. April 4 on a report of a stolen vehicle, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department.

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. - A 32-year-old man was in custody on Tuesday on suspicion of murder. Investigators found the body of his mother inside a trash receptacle in the Walnut Park area, officials said.
On Sunday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department responded to a call of a stolen car. According to the sheriff s department, the actual owner of the stolen car told deputies a family member was also missing.
On the morning of April 5, deputies found the stolen car in the city of Rosemead, along with the missing woman s son. At about 6:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Santa Ana Street in the Walnut Park area, deputies found the woman found dead inside a trash receptacle.

A woman was found dead in a trash receptacle in Huntington Park, Calif., on Monday.
The woman is believed to be a 75-year-old missing person, the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department revealed in a press release.
On Sunday, at around 10:30 p.m. police responded to a location on the 2500 block of Santa Ana Street in Huntington Park with regards to a report of a stolen vehicle.
The police then contacted the informant (resident) who stated their vehicle was missing along with a 75 year-old female family member, the press release stated.

An investigation is underway after the body of a 75-year-old woman was found in a trash receptacle in a park in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles County sheriff s deputies originally responded to reports of a stolen vehicle, which the owner said went missing along with a 75-year-old family member. Preliminary information revealed foul play at the location and a stolen vehicle/missing persons investigation was initiated, the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department said in a statement, without clarifying further.
On Monday morning, the vehicle was located in the city of Rosemead, along with a male adult who is the son of the missing elderly female.
