Chad Michael Salsman, 44, a prosecutor in Bradford County, has pled guilty
Charges include counts of sexual and indecent assault and witness intimidation
Complaints from former clients of Salsman saw how he had touched them inappropriately, forced them to have sex in his office, amid other accusations
Several of his staff testified to seeing distressed women leaving the DA s office
Salsman would ask his secretary to play music or use a white noise machine to drown out the noise coming from his office in Bradford County
As a condition of his plea, Salsman also resigned as the District Attorney
Under the plea agreement, Salsman still faces a maximum sentence of 11 years in state prison and a $25,000 fine
Women’s group demands Bradford County DA’s resignation over sexual assault charges

TOWANDA – Fallout from sexual assault charges filed against the Bradford County district attorney continues with a demand that he resign and the revocation of his courthouse security clearance.
The Strong Women of Bradford County, which describes its members as politically and socially liberal, is working to oust Chad Michael Salsman, 44, of Wyalusing.
Strong Women established an online petition demanding Salsman’s resignation that as of Monday had more than 2,670 signatures. It is not about politics, spokesperson Elizabeth Owen said.
Salsman must resign to “restore public trust in the integrity of the office and the rule of law in Bradford County,” she said. “It is a disgrace to our county to be forced to have a man who has used his position as a lawyer and then DA to [allegedly] commit multiple acts of violence against vulnerable woman.”
There were also “many other women (who) were placed in the same position, (but) those events occurred outside the statute of limitations,” and their cases could not be included for criminal charges, authorities said. During a news conference announcing the charges, Shapiro said, The details of these assaults are incredibly disturbing, and they are criminal. We know that they strike even deeper because Mr. Salsman abused his position of authority as a lawyer, and as a public official here in this county. The victims in this case were relying on him to be their advocate, to represent them at a time when they felt powerless. Instead, they ended up being preyed upon.”
