Moyross residents were appalled to see the home – only built a few years ago – in Cliona Park having had security coverings put on it after its former occupants moved out. Limerick City and County Council has said the move was taken due to fears of damage. It’s not yet clear what has prompted the council to take the action to remove the covers, with the Leader awaiting a statement from the local authority. But there was heavy criticism of the initial move to board it up, from local residents, plus Cllrs Sharon Benson and John Costelloe.

Limerick man jailed over €22k cannabis seizure

Limerick man jailed over €22k cannabis seizure Reporter:   ); A MAN who admitted storing a significant quantity of drugs at this home to repay a debt he owed has been jailed for 18 months. Gareth Keane, 30, who has an address at Sarsfield Gardens, Moyross was prosecuted before Limerick Circuit Court in relation to a seizure of cannabis on January 27, 2017. Detective Garda Noel Nash said a number of ziplock bags containing the drugs were found in a number of rooms at the house when it was searched more than four years ago. Just under one kilogramme of cannabis, with a street value of more than €22,000, was seized.
