Wild names Ray Shero Senior Advisor to the General Manager Shero most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the New Jersey Devils by Minnesota Wild @mnwild / Wild.com ST. PAUL Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has named Ray Shero Senior Advisor to the General Manager. Shero, 58, most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the New Jersey Devils from May 4, 2015 to January 12, 2020. Prior to his time with the Devils he spent eight seasons as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2006-07 to 2013-14. During his tenure with Pittsburgh, the Penguins won the 2009 Stanley Cup and he was named the General Manager of the Year in 2012-13.

Saturday, 29 May 2021 Defending champlons Finland, Slovakia and the second-seeded Russian Olympic Committee team closed in on quarter-final places today with important victories at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship in the Latvian capital of Riga. Finland, whose only defeat so far came in overtime in their second match against Kazakhstan, maintained their winning momentum with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Germany at the Arena Riga. Anton Lundell put them 1-0 up in the first period, but Korbinian Holzer equalised at the start of the second period before Arttu Ruotsalainen got the winner with less than nine minutes left.
