Premium Content Subscriber only With the waters getting cooler the central Queensland, surf lifesaving season has come to a finish. The Labour Day long weekend was the last opportunity Mackay locals had to make splash under the watchful eyes of lifesavers until the patrolled beaches return in spring. Eimeo Surf Lifesaving Club president Ross Gee was pleased with how the 2020-21 season went. Mr Gee said there had been fewer stingers than usual, with only three minor stings recorded and thankfully the club did not have to perform any rescues. “We’re really on top of our preventive actions,” he said.
