July 15 marks the celebration of the 5th annual PRISM Awards â a celebration of businesses and entrepreneurs using capital gain for good, not merely profit.Â
The local event is hosted by the National Institute for Social Impact (NI4SI) and serves to build a stronger community in the Colorado Springs area. The PRISM Awards are primarily for social entrepreneurs and businesses who create a social and economic impact in Colorado Springs and throughout the world. The awards highlight the idea that as conscious consumers continue to increase, it is important to give good examples of businesses that act as leaders in this relatively new sector of the economy.

Bayer Foundation, Get in the Ring is looking for impact-driven startups from all of Sub Saharan Africa to join their Social Impact Startup Academy. The goal of the Social Impact Startup Academy (SISTAC) is to help Sub Saharan African companies to grow their business with input and workshops with Social Innovation Masters students from WFI – Ingolstadt School of Management in Germany!
SISTAC was co-developed by the Bayer Foundation and Prof. Dr. André Habisch, who teaches the program at Ingolstadt School of Management. It was first launched in 2018 and is mainly funded by the Bayer Foundation. The bi-annual program contributes to Bayer’s sustainability ambitions which in turn support the United Nations Sustainability goals #2 (zero hunger) and #3 (good health and wellbeing). The SISTAC methodology is based on Clayton Christensen’s “Prosperity Paradox” which offers a new framework for economic growth based on entrepreneurship and market-creating innovation.
