The community has rallied to support the families who were devastated by a huge fire on Sunday. Emergency services rushed to Worcester Road, Blackburn, at around 5.30pm to tackle the huge blaze which could be seen for miles. Thankfully, nobody was injured in the fire but many families have lost all of their possessions. The community, alongside a number of groups, are now rushing to their aid, donating belongings and raising money. Liz Crook who runs Rummage Rescuers said her phone had not stopped ringing all day with people wanting to help. AN ENERGY hub has been helping deliver food parcels to the deprived families in the community. Utilita Energy have lend a hand to Community Helping Hands CIC to deliver 25 food parcels on Friday to people in the borough who are struggling financially. Community Helping Hands helps families across Blackburn with Darwen and have been working hard to keep getting essential food packages to families despite lockdown closing their shop in Darwen Market. Natalie, Energy Expert at the Utilita Energy Hub in Blackburn, said: “We were due to open the Energy Hub in January, but due to the country going back into lockdown, this has been delayed in line with Government guidelines.
