Council endorses $344 million budget
Council will continue delivering high quality infrastructure projects, services, and initiatives for both current and future residents after endorsing an exciting $344 million budget recently.
The 2017/18 – 2021/22 Revised Delivery Program and 2021/22 Operational Plan (Budget) will see the delivery of a $180 million Capital Works Program, including the continuation of the $5.1 million Community Infrastructure Renewal Program (CIRP), as well as a budget surplus of almost $1.8 million reinvested into the community.
It will also see the delivery of Council’s Stage Three $113.9 million COVID-19 support package, after the successful rollout of Stages One and Two in 2020, for residents and local businesses adversely affected by the pandemic.

Additional $12.5 million for Emergency Relief across Australia
The Morrison Government is providing an additional $12.5 million to 46 emergency relief providers in areas of urgent need.
Minister for Families and Social Services Anne Ruston said the funding would ensure emergency relief service providers could continue to support Australians doing it tough.
“The funds will be shared among providers in communities where there is high demand for support, including regions in New South Wales impacted by recent flooding.
“This top up will allow providers to support Australians experiencing financial hardship, by providing food hampers, clothing, petrol vouchers or help with paying a bill.

Proposed 2021-22 budget supports community
Hobsons Bay City Council’s Proposed Annual Budget 2021-22 will deliver $2 million in COVID recovery programs and ongoing rate and financial hardship relief, $63.491 million in capital works projects, and funding for over 100 vital community services.
The Proposed Annual Budget 2021-22 is now open for community feedback and submissions until 23 May 2021, following adoption at last night’s Council Meeting.
The $63.491 million Capital Works Program invests in new infrastructure across Hobsons Bay and provides much needed jobs for our community and local suppliers.
