Alabama health officials are increasing access to the COVID-19 vaccine starting Monday, January 18, when people age 75 and older and first responders become eligible under the state guidelines.
Demand for the vaccine is currently higher than supply, so those interested in getting the vaccine may have to be patient. The vaccine hotline operated by the Alabama Department of Public Health received more than a million calls during its first days of operation. That hotline, 1-855-566-5333, will help match eligible recipients with available vaccines at local health departments.
