A new original feature film was announced in Japan back in September 2020with Funimation revealed to be a co-producer on it with
Sing a Bit of Harmony. The film is planned for a 2021 debut and comes from Yasuhiro Yoshiura, the director behind
Time of Eve and
Patema Inverted.
The film has Yoshiura co-writing the script with Ichiro Okouchi while Kanna Kii handled the original character designs. They’re known for their work on the
Umibe no Etranger manga. Shuichi Shimamura is adapting the designs while serving as the chief animation director with production handled by co-producer J.C. Staff.

The fall 2020 anime adaptation of the manga for
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear is getting its home video releases in Japan handled by Kadokawa and they’ve set the schedule for it. The twelve-episode series is getting a three-volume release on both DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD is priced at 11,000 yen per volume while the Blu-ray’s are at 13,000 yen each. The first volume Blu-ray has a limited edition that’s priced at 18,000 yen that comes with a cushion cover. With the series getting underway on January 27th, 2021 we have our first look at the packaging for both regular and limited editions for the second volume.
