The Swampscott Reporter has received more than one unconfirmed news tip that the town s director of human resources position may be vacant for a second time in less than a year.
On Wednesday, March 31, the Reporter emailed Town Administrator Sean Fitzgerald and Swampscott Public Schools Superintendent Pamela Angelakis with questions regarding the employment status of Ricardo Flores, the town’s new human resources director, who has been on the job since December. As of press time, The Reporter had not received a response from either Fitzgerald or Angelakis.
Meanwhile, the Reporter could not reach Flores for comment.

Outgoing Swampscott School Committee member Ted Delano showered with praise for public service

Swampscott resident Ted Delano recently made known his intention not to seek a fourth Swampscott School Committee term in the 2021 municipal election.
Delano, a Swampscott native and police detective, has served on the elected, five-member committee for nearly a decade, bringing what local officials characterized to the Swampscott Reporter as invaluable experience and expertise.
“I held the position of being on the School Committee incredibly close to my heart. I have enjoyed the privilege of representing the future leaders of our community,” said Delano at the tail end of the School Committee’s public meeting convened on Feb. 24. “My decisions were always based on the best interest of our children and the fiduciary responsibility to the district.”
