AIR pollution levels in Oxford dropped to the lowest levels in ten years in 2020 as a result of the gruelling coronavirus lockdowns. The latest data from air quality monitoring stations spread across the city has shown an average decrease of 29 per cent, which the council says has achieved the lowest levels of air pollution since it first started recording levels in 1996. The 29 per cent reduction in air pollution levels is equivalent to the level of reduction achieved during the ten-year period between 2009 and 2019.
