QUETTA: Zeenat Shahwani advocate, an MPA who has been expelled from the Balochistan National Party-Mengal on allegations of not casting her vote in favour of the party’s candidate during the March Senate elections, has rejected the BNP-M’s decision.
Speaking at a press conference along with a large number of her supporters on Saturday, the MPA said she would not resign from the party on ‘false allegations’.
Ms Shahwani denied all allegations levelled against her by the party’s inquiry committee and said she would fight for her right to remain in the party.

QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), the ruling party in the province, has become the fourth largest party in the Senate after winning seven more seats of the upper house from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to unofficial results of Wednesday’s Senate elections, the BAP now has 12 seats in the upper house.
The ruling alliance in Balochistan won eight out of 12 Senate seats from Balochistan. The BAP clinched six seats while its ally Awami National Party (ANP) won one seat. Another successful candidate had the support of the BAP.

Polling continued until after 5pm in the KP Assembly, where the ECP allowed lawmakers already inside the legislature to cast their votes. Polling did not take place on Wednesday in Punjab where all Senate candidates were elected unopposed last month after disqualification or withdrawal of papers by other contestants.
