Sajan Prakash on Saturday entered his name in Indian swimming record books by winning an automatic berth for the Tokyo Olympic Games in the men s 200 metres butterfly event here.
Prakash clocked 1 minutes 56.38 seconds in the Sette Colli swimming competition. This timing was better than the Olympics A qualification time of 1:56.48 secs.
He is the first ever Indian swimmer to have achieved A qualifying standard in the history of Indian swimming. I have worked very hard for this, and I was confident with the way I had trained. DADU: An 11-year-old girl was subjected to criminal assault in a street of Khatri village, some seven kilometres from Khairpur Nathan Shah town, by two suspects on Tuesday.
She was admitted to the KN Shah Taluka Hospital for emergency treatment.
Belonging to a peasant family, the girl was grabbed as she came out of her house to play in the street. Some residents of the area said she was raped by the two suspects in the street and no one dared to intervene as they belonged to an influential family.
