Half of the National Arts Council’s PESP funding has gone to a connected 12%

Twelve percent of those who received the National Arts Council (NAC) of South Africa grant funding were collectively paid more than R128-million, which equates to 46% of the funding. In contrast the remaining 1142 recipients divided R150-million amongst themselves.
A report into the NAC’s Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP) grant funding, compiled by the South African Roadies Association (Sara) has highlighted alleged conflicts of interest and maladministration in the awarding of the grants.

SARAH Everard’s family saw the cop accused of her kidnap and murder for the first time today.

POLICE were yesterday searching flats where missing Sarah Everard was last seen as the week-long hunt for her continued.
Two forensics officers with backpacks arrived at the cordoned-off block near where a doorbell camera caught the 33-year-old at 9.30pm last Wednesday.

She had just spent 15 minutes chatting on it to boyfriend Josh Lowth, 33, after leaving a friend’s home.
Police have visited 750 homes in the area and are analysing “a wealth” of CCTV recordings.

POLICE had been told of attacks on lone women near to where a 33-year-old vanished off the street in London, it has been claimed.
Sarah Everard has not been seen for more than five days since she disappeared after leaving a friend s house in Clapham, South West London, at about 9pm on Wednesday.

Now, it is understood detectives investigating her disappearance had been told of assaults on women in the area, reports the Times.
In January, Metropolitan Police received a report of sexual harassment on a young female on Hydethorpe Road, just half a mile from where Sarah was last caught on CCTV.
