May 19 forum set on Alzheimer s disease, dementia The Repository HUDSON – The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter will have a virtual forum intended for Black participants to talk about Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and memory loss. The forum is for attendees to learn about the Association’s free resources, according to a news release. The May 19 event, which is open to the public, is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required to receive the link to join the event. To register, call 800-272-3900. According to the news release, research shows that Black Americans are about twice as likely as whites to have Alzheimer’s or another dementia and less likely to receive a diagnosis.

Webinars offer help to Alzheimer caregivers | News, Sports, Jobs

Dec 26, 2020 HUDSON– The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter will host a free four-week webinar series on caregiver resources and wellness. The one-hour sessions will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. every Thursday in January, starting Jan. 7, and will cover topics that range from healthy lifestyles for your brain to managing caregiver stress and burnout. Participants can register for one session or all four. After registering, participants will receive instructions on how to join. Church cemetery needs help The Bethesda Presbyterian Church cemetery board is seeking a volunteer secretary/treasurer. Job duties include taking minutes during meetings, which are held at most three times a year, plus paying bills, depositing money and other bookkeeping responsibilities. Darren Odey to sponsor Banquet Darren Odey will sponsor the Drive Thru Christmas Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. or until the food is gone (no later than 7 p.m.) Friday at the Salem Memorial Building. Limit of one meal per occupant in the vehicle. The menu will include ham, parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and cupcakes.
