Tire Business wins four Crain awards

Tire Business coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic was among four entries that won awards in the Crain Communications Inc. Editorial Contest, which rewarded outstanding journalism within the company s stable of publications during 2020.
Tire Business took first place in four of five categories in the contest, competing against other publications of roughly the same size within the international company.
The COVID-19 coverage in the March 30, 2020, edition won first place in the Best Package: Art, Multimedia & Writing category, featuring stories from every member of the
Tire Business staff.
The
TB package also included daily COVID-related news briefings that Managing Editor David Manley conducted during the height of the pandemic as part of a Facebook Live offering.
Nominations sought for 2021 Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award

Tire Business is seeking nominations for its Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award, which recognizes an independent tire dealer or retreader who, during the past year, has made significant contributions to the betterment of his or her community through charitable and/or public service work.
Now in its 28th year, the award has become one of the most coveted honors in the tire industry. The person selected as the winner will have demonstrated an unselfish commitment to the betterment of others. Nominations will be judged by an independent committee outside of the tire industry. The winner will receive the Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award Medal and a $2,500 donation to the charity of his or her choice.
