Print Sixty years ago, the San Diego Hall of Champions and San Diego Hall of Fame opened in the old House of Charm building next to the Alcazar Gardens in Balboa Park. After relocating twice, the San Diego sports museum closed its doors in Balboa Park in 2017. Much of the memorabilia it housed was returned to donors or auctioned off. The Hall of Fame founded by San Diego sports icon Bob Breitbard found a new home at Petco Park.
