Bengaluru, Dec 23: Bruhut Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad tested positive for Covid-19, prompting the civic body to ask people who met him to get tested.
Prasad initially reported breathing problems on Monday and gave the sample for the RT-PCR test. Tuesday the results confirmed the infection with mild fever and currently in isolation at Mallige Hospital,” he said.
BBMP officials revealed that the Commissioner had taken part in several events. He had interacted with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday regarding an event, while on Monday, he flagged-off the MyCity MyBudget bus initiative along with special commissioner D Randeep and had taken part in several meetings He was present at the BBMP Covid war room till 7.30 pm.

The first cargo ship to Maldives from Mangalore Old Port will sail with vegetables and organic manure on Monday.
The cargo ship ‘MSV Noore Al-Kadari-II’ with 200 tonnes of goods will reach Maldives in four days. The goods were loaded on Sunday.
“This is the first time that the goods are being exported to Maldives Island from Old Port. Export activities will get a boost with this new business relation. We expect more exports from Mangalore Old Port in the future,” said contractor Charandas V Karkera.
There is a demand for organic manure in Maldives for the coconut and other agriculture farms in the island. The organic manure, made of coconut husks and cow dung, is in good demand on the island, he said.
