Glen Rose community news in brief Glen Rose Reporter DVSP hosting Moonshiner s Hike Dinosaur Valley State Park is hosting a Moonshiner s Hike from 8-10 p.m. on Friday, July 23. Explore the interesting history of moonshine in Texas. On this hike, we will learn how people made, hid, sold, and survived on moonshine in Prohibition-Era Texas. Along the way, you will see if you have what it takes to make it as a true Texas moonshiner by playing a game of luck. This hike is about 3 miles long. The terrain is rocky and hilly. We will cross a river, so come prepared to get your feet wet. Good hiking shoes, water, and sun protection are recommended. This hike is recommended for ages 13 and older.

Barnard s Mill hosts story time in conjunction with Parker exhibit Reporter Staff Barnard s Mill and Art Museum is hosting a special story time in conjunction with the One Man, Two World’s Exhibit. Special guest, Liz McDaniel will be sharing her gift of storytelling at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24. Admission is free. Children’s story time is from 10-11 a.m. and adult/family story time is 2-3 p.m. The Quanah Parker Exhibit and museum are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. McDaniel is from Groesbeck, and lives in close proximity to Old Fort Parker. She retired in 2016 after teaching for 34 years in the elementary classroom.

Glen Rose community news in brief Glen Rose Reporter Paluxy River Jam set for July 16-17 Paluxy River Jam with The Hamilton s and Clayton Landua is scheduled for July 16-17 at the Dinosaur Valley RV Park, 1099 Park Road 59. Also featured will be Hayden Huse, Ryan Turner, Mike Stanley, Darren Kozelsky, Blake Burrow, and Troy Murph and Friends. In addition to the live music, there will be camping, a cornhole tournament, and a barbecue cookoff. Advance reservations and separate concert tickets are required. All overnight reservations must be booked over the phone and cannot be booked online. Concert tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.com, once DVRVP site is reserved.
