THE lengths to which Unionists will take their Union Jackery never cease to amaze many of our readers – one of whom has pointed out a glaring example on BBC One. Rob Gill told us it happened when he sat down to watch an episode of Escape to the Country earlier this week, where prospective buyers are shown properties that could potentially signal their escape from city life. On this occasion the programme was visiting Dumfries and Galloway, and the BBC blurb for it read: “Sonali Shah visits spectacular Scotland, making her way to Dumfries and Galloway with a married couple from London who are seeking a life-changing move.
THIS is the shocking moment a gun was pointed at a man through a car window - moments before it was shot. Police have released CCTV footage of the terrifying incident, which took place on May 3, after two men were jailed last week. Preston Crown Court heard how at 12.40pm officers were called to reports that an Audi car had been rammed by a Mercedes vehicle and the Audi had also been shot at on Ormerod Street in Accrington. Footage obtained by officers showed the Mercedes pull up alongside the Audi and an arm comes out holding what is now known to be a BB gun, and is pointed at the Audi driver’s window.

TWO men involved in an incident in which a BB gun was fired at the driver of an Audi on a street during the day have been jailed. Hughie Lock, 27, and Kieron Bolton, 22, appeared at Sessions House in Preston charged with offences relating to the shooting in Ormerod Street, Accrington, on May 3. The court heard how Lock, who has three children with a woman called Sylvia Howarth, had become agitated after receiving a text from Miss Howarth’s new partner, Adam Kidger. Mr Kidger had accused Lock of upsetting Miss Howarth. In retaliation, Lock threatened Mr Kidger saying he was going to shoot him, and along with Bolton, who he recruited to act as his driver, pursued Mr Kidger’s Audi through Accrington, ramming it several times, before the Audi was forced to stop on a residential street.
